Apprentice team get together at Rising Sun!

Today some hardy souls from NT Employment & Skills Apprenticeship team braved the rainy weather to get out and about in one of North Tyneside’s beautiful parks, the Rising Sun. Although the weather was typical for the great British summertime we had a great time catching up face to face with colleagues who we  normally only see on Teams calls! The team are hoping to make this a monthly event and make use of all the great sites across North Tyneside.  Hopefully next time it might not be so wet!

Hundreds of Vacancies up for Grabs at Quorum Jobs Fair

Quorum Jobs Fair will be held online on July 15 and will offer job seekers the chance to hear directly from companies that are actively recruiting.

The event, which is in its fourth year, has been organised by North Tyneside Council in conjunction with the Quorum team and sponsored by international alarm provider Verisure, which recently moved to Quorum and employs 300 people on the site. Various roles are available and include full and part-time positions, apprenticeships, as well as training and graduate opportunities.

With vacancies in finance, sales, IT, social care, customer service, public sector and more, there are a range of exciting opportunities available for people with different skills.

Speaking ahead of the event, North Tyneside Elected Mayor, Norma Redfearn CBE said: “North Tyneside Council is absolutely committed to supporting job creation and career opportunities – and we know this is important to our residents.

“We are delighted to be organising the virtual fair with the team at Quorum Park, which is home to many brilliant organisations. The event a great opportunity for people to learn about prospective employers and hear about any vacancies they have, as well as employers having access to fantastic, talented, local job seekers.

“I would really encourage those looking for a new role or for information to join in with the virtual event on July 15.”

Park Director, Mark Rabinowitz from Shelborn Asset Management added: “We are always keen to support employment growth here at Quorum Park. Despite a difficult 18 months for many, Quorum has seen a number of large occupiers move to site and many of our businesses are in continued growth mode.

“The great range of roles and opportunities on offer are a perfect illustration of what Quorum Park, and the wider North East region, has to offer in the jobs market. While the traditional in-person event may not be possible in current circumstances, the virtual event and platform we’re using offers a unique opportunity for potential candidates to interact with a wide variety of businesses and find the perfect role for them.”

Employers taking part include Verisure; NHS; DWP; Physiotherapists Connect; Concentrix which provides outsourcing services; and Evalon which manages a secure payment processing service.

On the day, videos will showcase these businesses and others attending outlining opportunities available with those interested able to speak to someone from the organisation in a ‘chat room’. Questions can also be asked on a general forum on the day – a job seeker can visit the site to say what role they’re looking for and a business can respond directly.

The fair takes place from 11am to 1pm and those interested should visit : jobsliveuk.com/partner/quorum/or more information and details about how to join in.
