Internship Works is a national project aimed at doubling the number of Supported Internships available.  It is designed to support more young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) to have greater control and choice over their future, opening up opportunities that prepare them for adult life and independent living.

North Tyneside Council has received funding from the Department of Education to deliver this project which has resulted in an increase in the number of Supported Internship opportunities available to young people in North Tyneside in 2025.
