Counselling Skills Level 2 Certificate
Description
You must also first enrol on the Introduction to Counselling Skills which will provide you with Advice and Guidance, an introduction to and an overview of the Level 2 Certificate, as well as preparing you for your studies.
The course aims to introduce you to the everyday use of Counselling Skills in life and at work and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.
The units of study are:
- Using Counselling Skills
- Introduction to Counselling theories and approaches
- Diversity and Ethics in the use of Counselling Skills
- Counselling Skills and Personal Development.
Awarding Body
Your online portfolio is the only assessment requirement of the course. Your tutor will guide you when setting tasks and ask you to possibly informally practise Skills at the end of sessions if you wish. However, this will be your choice and you will not be assessed on your Skills.
Course Length
The full course will run for 24 weeks. This course is delivered in face-to-face classroom sessions.
Attendance
It is a requirement that you attend 80% of the sessions to ensure you have the best chance of passing the course. Please think carefully before enrolling on this course if you have other commitments that may interfere with attendance.
What else do I need to know?
You should expect to do a maximum of an additional two hours a week in home study and research. Tutorials are always available with your Tutor if you need any extra help.
You could progress onto our Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory. After this you could study on a Higher Education course in Counselling at a University or Private Provider after which you would be a fully qualified Counsellor and could work professionally as such.
