DOP Digital Skills Booster
Description
Sessions take place at a number of venues throughout North Tyneside. We can also deliver training at your own venue if you want us to help your community group, hobby group or your colleagues.
You are not expected to bring pen and paper, although you may wish to if you want to take notes during the session.
This course is suitable for those wanting to get to grips with day-to-day digital skills. The training is tailored to your specific needs and covers a range of abilities; whether you’re brand new to going online and don’t know where to start, or you have a specific goal, such as improving your knowledge of email or office-based software.
Topics and themes include:
- Understanding tech terms and digital jargon
- Getting to grips with office software
- Online safety and identifying scam emails
- What is the cloud?
- Downloading and installing software and software updates
You must be aged 19 or over to enrol on this course. No prior qualifications or experience is required.
Assessment
There are no formal assessments or exams. Progress and feedback will be monitored and discussed with your tutor throughout the course.

6 hours, typically 1 hour per week

We suggest attending 80% of your course to get the most benefit
This is a non-accredited course; we also offer a range of digital and IT-based qualifications. Please speak to your tutor who will be able to advise you on what courses would best suit your needs.
