DOP Digital Skills Scan
Sessions take place at a number of venues throughout North Tyneside. Remote (virtual) Skills Scans can be completed upon request.
You are not expected to bring pen and paper, although you may wish to if you want to take notes during the session.
The Skills Scan is the typical starting point for the Digital Outreach Project. A completed Skills Scan allows your tutor to suggest the best DOP course and helps your tutor identify key areas and topics most suitable for your needs.
It is a short, 1 hour relaxed, friendly and informal chat with your tutor where you can discuss any areas of digital skills in which you’d like some support and tuition. This could be anything from knowing how to turn a device on to knowing how to update software on a computer.
You must be aged 19 or over to enrol on this course. No prior qualifications or experience is required.
There are no formal assessments or exams, and no pass/fail outcome. There are no wrong answers in a Skills Scan.
We recommend completing a Skills Scan prior to attending another DOP course.
The Digital Outreach Project is made up of non-accredited courses; we also offer a range of digital and IT-based qualifications. Please speak to your tutor who will be able to advise you on what courses would best suit your needs.
