The sessions provide a fun, interesting and relaxed learning environment, where you will be encouraged to participate. During the sessions, many of the activities require you to work in pairs and small groups, using simple French. The course will be loosely based on a textbook, details of which you will receive at the start of the course. You are asked to bring pens and paper to each session. Doing extra work at home will help to strengthen your language skills. Homework will
be issued during the course but is recommended rather than compulsory.
A variety of everyday topics will be covered such as introducing yourself, buying snacks and drinks, asking for directions, booking accommodation and shopping. The emphasis will be on speaking, although other activities will
include listening to, and reading, French. We will also look at grammar to help you build your own sentences.
Activities and work will be assessed by your tutor.
Each term lasts 11 weeks.
You will be expected to attend every week. If you cannot attend, you will be set work to ensure you meet your learning outcomes
You may wish to carry onto French Improvers / Intermediate or to try a different language such as German, Italian or Spanish.
