Level 1 Award in Basic Construction Skills
To study this course, you must have basic communication skills although there are no formal prior qualifications required. You will benefit from having some experience of using basic tools and equipment and want to work within the Construction Industry.
You will need to attend an interview to determine your suitability for the course.

On this course you will undertake three qualifications, Multi-Skill Construction, Employability and Health and Safety training. Construction: you will develop hand skills in joinery, bricklaying and tiling skills.
Awarding Body: NOCN, CITB, Edexcel
Construction: your skills will be assessed throughout the course through products of work, questioning and tutor observations. You will be expected to complete an evidence-based portfolio for each qualification. This will require some classroom-based work where you will work to build a file of evidence and sit an on-line test to prove competency.
Health and Safety: you will be taught and assessed during the course. You will complete online practice tests which will help prepare for a multiple-choice online test which will be set at an external centre (CSCS).
Course will be delivered over 6 weeks and learners will attend 3 days per week.
You could progress onto a trade-specific course at Level 2.
