his qualification is designed for learners who are working within the health and social care sector and are looking to gain specialist knowledge and understanding of personal care needs.
Please note whilst the course is free, there is a £50 withdrawal fee if you leave or are withdrawn from the course without completion.
The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Personal Care Needs is to give learners specialist knowledge to support their work within the social care and healthcare sectors.
Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of person-centred care, how to support personal hygiene, foot care for individuals, oral health, pressure area care and an understanding of sepsis.
Assessment Awarding Body: NCFE
This is an online course. You will receive your own study pack, alongside a specialist tutor who will guide you through your studies. Your study pack includes a set of high-quality knowledge workbooks that are designed to help you learn independently through a range of reflective activities. You will also receive an online assessment account (e-assessor) where you will document your evidence.
The qualification consists of 6 mandatory units:
- Unit 01: Understand Person-Centred Care
- Unit 02: Understand How to Support Personal Hygiene
- Unit 03: Understand Foot Care for Individuals
- Unit 04: Understand How to Support Individuals to Maintain Oral Health
- Unit 05: Understand Pressure Area Care
- Unit 06: Understand Sepsis
Knowledge-based assessment to be completed via e-portfolio system.
Course Length:
10 weeks (although you can complete more quickly if you wish)
Attendance:
This course is part of our online learning offer, and you will primarily study at home. Regular drop-in workshops are available, facilitated by a specialist tutor. We encourage attendance at the drop-in sessions for support, reassurance and knowledge building.
You will receive submission dates for all units.
