Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills



This qualification is ideal for anyone wanting to develop their knowledge, skills and competence across a range of IT programs, but is particularly suitable for learners who already use IT in their current job role, or who wish to move into a job role where IT skills will be used. To complete the course successfully you need to already have basic knowledge of Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and a minimum of level 1 literacy and numeracy skills are required.

This is a Distance Learning course however you must attend an induction session before you can begin your studies.

IT skills are now a major part of many job roles. On this course you will develop knowledge, skills, competence, and confidence in a range of areas relevant to IT users, meeting the demands of the modern workplace.

The course consists of 5 manageable units:

  • Using IT to Increase Productivity
  • IT Software Fundamentals
  • IT Security for Users
  • Presentation Software
  • Spreadsheet Software

This is a Distance Learning programme, but you must attend the induction session. If you require additional support, tutorials can be arranged either face to face, over the telephone or by email.

This course will prepare you for progression to Level 2 Principles of Digital Skills (distance learning), or a classroom-based course such as Functional Skills ICT Level 2 or CLAiT Plus.
