This qualification is aimed at anyone seeking to improve their knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND), either for personal or professional reasons.
This is a Distance Learning course however you must attend an induction session before you can begin your studies.
Please note that whilst the course is free, there is a £50 withdrawal fee if you choose to withdraw from the course.

Learners will consider many aspects of SEND, including the symptoms of specific conditions, legislation, and guidance applicable to individuals with SEND and how such conditions affect individuals in daily life.
Learners will study 4 units:
Unit 1: Introduction to Special Education Needs and Disability
Unit 2: Understanding equality and Diversity in the in the context of SEND
Unit 3: Principles of promoting person centred approach for individuals with SEND
Unit 4: Understanding SEND and learning
This is a Distance Learning programme, but you must attend the induction session. If you require additional support, tutorials can be arranged either face to face, over the telephone or by email.
You could progress onto other Distance Learning programmes such as:
- Level 2 Certificate in understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences
- Level 2 Certificate in Autism Awareness
- Level 2 Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties
